10 Silent Minutes - The Traveling Restaurant

Today for reading I decided to hold of the drawing and read for 10 minutes straight to understand the characters more. During the 10 minutes, Jasper had already gotten on a boat, lost his parents, discarded his uncle's rules and gotten on a strangers boat. I was so interested in the book I almost did 20 minutes of reading, which I wouldn't mind at all. I think that I will need to read the whole series to be satisfied with the end.

Tane Mahuta - Rubbish Collecting

Today for Tane Mahuta we went outside to the field and Started to collect rubbish from the field. We all split up into different groups to cover more ground. In my group, we had Mackenzie C, Kaedun, and a few others. Kaedun found a phone by the posts while the rest of us found trash, trash, and more trash. Then we all met up at the end of the field and walked into the bushes. my friend found a 5 dollar note and we all freaked out. We think that we helped the environment a little more now.

The New Cover - The Traveling Restaurant

Today for reading I created my own version of The Traveling Restaurant using Google Drawings. I decided to do this in black and white to prevent it from looking too overdone. I like it when covers on books aren't too overdone but this time I was too distracted to mind. I put some work into this but I think that I can do better I just don't know how. Maybe next time when I create the characters I will draw them.

The Traveling Restaurant - By Barbara Else

Today we got given a reading task to write facts about the first page from an entire chapter book. At first, I thought that this was a stupid idea but as I was reading the first page I thought that This book was very interesting so you get a cliffhanger when you read the whole page. So far I know 3 names from the book from the first page, Jasper, Lady Galls and Emily.

Until next time

The Hour Of Minecraft Coding

Today we have been working on coding for our digital hurumana with 7/8 Mt. My and my friend Lyan decided to do Minecraft coding so we could also have fun with it. We thought that it would be easy but as you go along it gets very difficult. the further you go the more into it you are. Even if I am not doing this in class I think that I would like to do it outside of school as well. I had alot of fun on code.org

Tane Mahuta

I am proud to say that I am part of the Tane Mahuta group. Our job is to help the environment by planting more trees and flowers not only to make the world look better but to help the environment grow bigger and bigger. Today we walked around the outside part of the school to find some places that we could help plant trees and fix up the soil to take the rubbish out. My favorite part of the walk was the community garden that was hidden inside the bushes of the school. My best idea to improve the school is to plant some nice trees/plants to help mother nature become great again.

Continues Cricket

During the start of the year, we have been working with Mr. Mitchel on measurements and games. we have lately been working on Continues Cricket. We played the game and got told to write down all of the rules and objectives of the game and post about them. Here is what I have come up with.

To get as many runs as you can to help win the game for your team.

Players

Split your class into 2 different teams - beaters and fielding.

Equipment

Two bats
1 wicket set + 2 more wickets
2 balls

Scoring

You score by running to 1 wicket and back and again until you reach 6 runs or get balled out.

Winning

You win if you get the most amount of runs.

Rules

  • Throw the ball underarm
  • You have to run after someone balls
  • If you catch it on the fall the beater will be out
  • Three strikes and you switch - batters to fielding and vise versa
  • You are not allowed to go to one wicket and run strat to the next - stick to the same one.
  • No cheating during the game.
  • HAVE FUN
