Rosa Parks - Cool To Be Kind

Today in C.I.P ( cool to be kind ) we have been looking at everyone who has changed the world with kindness and courage. I chose to work on Rosa Parks because she inspired me with her inspirational words and brave steps to make everyone equal. She started by refusing to move on the bus for a white woman when all the front was taken. This was on Thursday, December 1st, 1955 when Rosa went on the bus from a long day's work. Her professions were dressmaker, secretary, and activist.

  • Make sure everyone in your group is ready to start their roles.
  • Record how many times it spins and record it in the table below.
  • Count the number of spins in 15 seconds.
  • Record it on your chart.

FINDINGS

Place name on school grounds                                    Number of Spins in 15 seconds
1.Field0
2.Old J Block site2
3.Grass hill in the quad1
4.Tennis Court gate0

CONCLUSION:

I think that the old J block site has the most wind because of all of the construction that has been going on. The Feld and Tenis courts Had the least amount of wind because today was a calm day and there has been nothing going on around those places. The Grass hill had 1 spin because the higher we go the more the wind blows. In conclusion, It doesn't matter if you measure at the same time It just matters where you are and how much the wind blows there.

Bio Poem - Drama

For drama today we had been given a template of a bio poem and told to write
one about yourself.

I’m Emily

Imma a quirky, kind, funny, creative person.

Sister to one annoying, creepy, woman who never let anyone’s judgment
get in the way of her learning and drawing. Daughter of Anita, a nice,
amazing mother who always helps any way she can. Daughter of Scott
a strange, angry person who kept going until the job was done or
the lesson had been taught.

A family who would never let anyone hurt each other. A family who
would never do anything to hurt one another. A family who made
anyone and everyone feel like they were at home.
This is the thing that keeps me sane.

Bullies never fail to show for they always find those who have even
the smallest things wrong. They make u feel sad. They make you
feel angry. They make you feel like life's not worth the trouble
caused by them.

I am a person who fears clowns walking the streets, spiders crawling
up my back, and my biggest fear is of losing those who did so much
as to care about me.

I have always wanted to jump off the sky tower, climb up the tallest
mountains, but most of all always wanted to become a writer.

Born in Christchurch and raised in Hornby.

Life is a conundrum of esoterica

C.I.P - Cool To Be Kind

For our, Cool To Be Kind C.I.P group we have been talking to the elderly, helping each other and learning the meaning of kindness by showing our values to help Hornby become a nice and friendly place to be. I feel like we could be doing much more to help our community by getting hands in and go to different primary schools and talk about what kindness means and how they could show kindness with just a simple smile. Maybe we could write letters and placing them all over Hornby so everyone can read them, or place some fun in the walls of our home with drawing and coloring competitions. Either way, I think that we could do a lot but we could do more with the help of the community. Be kind to your family, Help do the landry or clean the house. Be kind to your neighbors, talk to them and compliment them once in a while. But most of all be kind to yourself, treat yourself sometimes and think good thoughts about how you look and what you do.

C.I.P - What We Are Doing

Every Wednesday for the past 3 terms we have been doing C.I.P which stands for Community Impact Projects. In cool to be kind we go around and help others, talk to the elderly, and share our thoughts and ideas on our blogs. We want to make an impact on our community and make Hornby a better place to live. In our other C.I.P group, Tane Mahuta. We go and plant more native trees to keep nature in the world and we talk about what we are doing to destroy this plant. We want the native birds to come back to New Zealand by starting to plant those trees that the birds most likely go to. Making our home a better place to be without all the gases and oils leaking into our atmosphere. Help us make our world a better place to be by recycling, re-planting, and reducing the need for destroying our home.

Poem Holidays - Gaming calls

For the start of the day, we have been told to write something about what we had been doing during the holidays. I decided to write about all the calls that I had been in with my friends that love to game. They are always playing some type of video game whenever we talk and I thought why not talk about that.
