Johnny was helping Sophie cleaning up when he found a lot of money. He wanted to keep it but we haven't found out what he did yet. I think he should leave the money even if Sophie doesn't know it was there because if he was Sophie he wouldn't want someone to take that kind of cash.

Critical Literacy Question - Why are we reading this text?

The meaning of the text is so that people are able to find some great ways to help people fall asleep during the night. It has tips like 'limiting screen time' and 'Don't binge eat before bedtime' letting people know how to help themselves or their teens get a good night's rest. The reasoning for people to not binge before going to be is because it can cause discomfort during the night causing them to be tense and not relaxed enough to fall asleep. We are reading this because it has been known that teens have been getting less sleep throughout time and articles like these help everyone figure out how to get a good sleep for nights to come.

This is about the immense power of failure.

It is about persisting through the tuff spaces. "I got sick and tired of trying to impress lots of people. And when I lost lots of my enjoyment, I sort of lost my way". Akira Ioane was hoping for a place in 2019 All Blacks World Cup Team but he missed out after a public roasting from coach Steve Hansen. The real change started happening during lockdown when he was able to focus on himself without anyone pushing and worrying about him all the time. He was able to become a better version of himself with the help of his friends and family.

The Changeover - Margaret Mahy

To start of the week of reading I decided to read for 10 minutes to help me understand the book a little bit more. The girl named Laura was hopping out of the shower when her towel disappeared into thin air. her mother was in the room next to her and she shouted out loud asking her if she could bring her a towel. In the end, she got the towel and exited the bathroom while heading to her room. When she got to her room she looked in the mirror to find she wasn't herself anymore. She tried to identify what she and her reflection had different. At first, she couldn't see anything but as her eyes drifted up to her face she stopped in shock. She looked older then she was and her hair was different. She screamed out to her mother and explained what had happened. She had asked if her mother could write her a note but her mother said that there will be no notes on a Thursday. 

I think that this book is really interesting so far and can't wait for the next time. What do you think will happen next.

10 Silent Minutes - The Traveling Restaurant

Today for reading I decided to hold of the drawing and read for 10 minutes straight to understand the characters more. During the 10 minutes, Jasper had already gotten on a boat, lost his parents, discarded his uncle's rules and gotten on a strangers boat. I was so interested in the book I almost did 20 minutes of reading, which I wouldn't mind at all. I think that I will need to read the whole series to be satisfied with the end.

The New Cover - The Traveling Restaurant

Today for reading I created my own version of The Traveling Restaurant using Google Drawings. I decided to do this in black and white to prevent it from looking too overdone. I like it when covers on books aren't too overdone but this time I was too distracted to mind. I put some work into this but I think that I can do better I just don't know how. Maybe next time when I create the characters I will draw them.

Today we got given a reading task to write facts about the first page from an entire chapter book. At first, I thought that this was a stupid idea but as I was reading the first page I thought that This book was very interesting so you get a cliffhanger when you read the whole page. So far I know 3 names from the book from the first page, Jasper, Lady Galls and Emily.

Christmas Around The World

This week we are here to celebrate christmas and I am so excited. Today we read all about the christmas traditions from all around the world.

In France they leave their shoes out in front of the fire place so father christmas can put presents inside of them.

In Italy they eat very little on christmas day because this is a special day of prayer. Italians share their christmas gifts on the 6th of january witch I find very fasanating.

Dutch people celabrate St. Nichoals day on the 6th of december.

In Sweden Christmas eve is known as as  Julafton. This is a day to celabrete and make partys.

In Mexiconeach night from the 16th of december till christmas day the re-create the story of joseph and mary arriveing at bethlehem.

The Polish people call christmas eve the festavil of the stars. Often the don't eat until the first star apers in the night sky.

New Zealand's Sacred Mountains

Today for reading I am about to read New Zealand's sacred mountains and by the title I have found out some questions that I would like an answer to.

How many sacred mountains are their?

Where are the sacred mountains placed?

What are the names of the mountains?

I found out the sacred mountains are sleeping volcanoes that are waiting to erupt.

I also found out that the mountains were once gods and worries for the land.

The last thing that I have found out was only one volcano that was a woman.

We also read a book called The Battle Of The Mountains. I found out that these books are very similar because they are talking about the same story. The battler of the mountains was between the 6 brothers that had there love on the only woman mountain. They decited to have a battle for her love. she couldent stand it anymore so they split up and went there seprate ways.

The Big Friendly ... Monster

This week we have been learning how to elaborate on a picture. I thought that this was quite challenging because it was just a simple picture that we needed to write a WHOLE ENTIRE STORY with. I loved the challenge because I am a person who likes challenges.

The Big Friendly ... Monster

Trudging through the woods with big feet going BOOM, BOOM, BOOM until he reaches a little cottage. “Hahaha what do we have here” the monster said with a big evil grin on his face.

The monster found a cute, adorable kitten sleeping on a pink pillow with white polka dots. Then he grabbed the tiny marshmallow but the white fur ball went meow. The owner came in and saw the hideous monster and then saw the adorable kitten. He screamed and ran out of the house. Then monster said that he was going to have fun.

He took the kitten to his home and turned on the stove. The kitten nudged the monster and made the horrible beast smile. Right after he found out he pretended to be mean and horrible. He decided to go hunting instead from cooking the kitten. “1 more day. Then I will cook it”. He went hunting and found 2 deers, 3 chickens and 1 bear.

The next day he found himself hugging the kitten and screamed. The small white ball woke up and screamed “ MEEOOOW”. They started to become great friends but they both secretly wanted to be more.

Poem About The New School

I can see the world revolving around the school,
It looks very nice and very cool,
I can smell the great new land from here,
It is like I am already there,
I can hear the people screaming and sing and shouting with glee,

It sounds just like kids playing in the sea,

I can feel the glossy part on the whiteboard table,

I know that it is very stable,

My heart is pounding with the happiness inside,

I love the school as if it were alive.

Today was the 3rd day at our new school and my 2nd because I was away yesterday. We all got to write a poem about the new school. I think that it is amazing but that is just my opinion. I used rymzone to find the rimes. I have put a lot of thought into this poem. I love this school because it looks amazing. Just like I said in the poem. I am proud of my poem.

The Giant Complex Sentences

Today in writing we had to write 3 giant complex sentences about this photo. We got the photo of once upon a picture witch is a website that you go on to find a photo that you want to write about. I had fun doing this. The hardest part of this hole thing was to come up with a complex sentence. The easyest part was to separate the simple parts, verbs and the conjunctions. I had so much fun doing this. I think that when you have time you should try this webstite.

It was dark and creepy because it was a silent night. Giants came to eat the humans as if they were brussel sprouts. The children were sing take me to church until these giant vacuums came to swallow them. Everyone starded to get scared as if they we're a little sceard princess hiding to save herself.

The Hunt Is On

Today for reading we are up to the 2 day of our Traviling the world. Today we got told to Chosoe what place gave you the most fun and witch place was the best experince. That was just the first task. The secound task was to list 5 questions that you would ask to Laura Dekker. For the Bonus one we got told to interview on of your friends. I loved this one.

Keep new zealand clean

Today was the last day for the activity for our 7 day reading activitys. I have explaned every thing in the slide and I think that the best activity was the 5th activity.

Today for our reading activitys I had alot of fun and I got to think about alot of different culltchers

 

One Step At A Time ...

Todays activity's were very interesting because some toke some time. I was thinking and thinking about what I was going to create. For the first activity we got told to create a mini story about what is going to happen next. I was thinking very hard for this one. For the next activity we got to serch up one famous New Zealand.

Swimming With Sharks

Today for litracy we only had to do one activity and one bonus because the second  activity wouldn't work. For the first activity we had to write down what the people did to save the beached whales. It was very easy and I thought that it was going to be hard. For the bonus activity we got to answer if we thought that it is crull to fish in Farewell Spit or if it is great to fish in Farewell Spit. The challengeing part for this bonus activity was thinking what to write down to ague whith the people that think it is fine to fish in Farewell Spit.

Wild Eyes

Todays activatys were really cool. I have the dicription in the slide and I am really proud of my work. It is really cuneke and I just had so much fun doing this. I hope you do this of atlest go into a link and cheak it out. just to let you know the last activaty we got told to create something to make people bleve that the moa is real. I did a drawing of a moa foot print. it has moss all around it to make it look old.

Learning About Auckland

This week for Reading we are doing some tasks for points and the person with the most points wins a prize. Today we were learning about Auckland and we were doing some fun and different tasks. I got to do the bonus task because I finished my 1st and 2nd activity. I think That I am going to win and I lovedit and I enjoyed it so much. I hope that the nest one willl be as fun as this one.

Recount Writing

Last week was the school holiday and I had so much fun. Well, crazy fun. We got told to write about it and so i did. about me having a crazy weekend I still loved it and that is th most inportant thingto me. I realy hope you had a great school holiday. 

This weekend has been the weirdest weekend ever. In the weekend I went to Rose’s house to do some baking but we may of baked a little too much.  

Rose loves to bake and loves having me over. She says it because she feels lonely. She also says that she likes how I come over and stay the night.  For the first night we made golden syrup dumplings. The tasted amazing. On the second night we made chocolate chip cookies. Mmm Mmm! We also made banana cake. And finally for the last night we kind of went a bit to crazy and made about 6 batches of food. They were more banana cake, more chocolate cookies, some belgian biscuits and 3 batches of light fairy cupcakes.

After I went to roses my mum wanted to cut my hair. She cut my hair because I have a sore at the back of my head and I have this special shampoo and cream that I have to put on it. I did think that it was going to be right at my shoulders buuuut she cut it up to my ears. She didn't no that she cut it up to my ears because i was wearing a turtleneck. I cried at first because I didn't think that my friends would like it but I got use to having my hair down and it being easy to brush. Now. I love it.

The next week on friday I went to my nana's and since it was the last week she said the my grandad was going to take me. We we're driving and driving but we ended up in Haswell. After a couple of hours or driving I said that I think that we should just go home.

I think that my weekend was the craziest weekend ever, but it was still fun. We'll for me I guess.

Stormy Weather

This tearm we have been learning about Weather. In art we have done a stormy weather painting. It isent really paining but more dyeing. If you want to make this here are the intruction. Step 1 you need to dye your backround. Step 2 you need to make a silowet ( it means shadow ) to put on the bottem. Step 3 you need to do the black cloud but you need to DAB it on. Step 4 you need to do you lightnig with a thin strike. Step 5 put it on your blog. now you are done. this is how mine turned out.
