A soft focus on the bark and the main part is the soldier.

Because of the fact that the camera is level with the soldier, it makes it seem like a P.O.V of someone with or against them.

Blur out the background to make it focus more on the soldier.

The light is coming from the back and making the soldier glow.

It is eye level with the soldier.

It is kind of mid-range.

ReplyDeleteKia ora Emily, Yes, the foreground bark does have a soft focus and it works well as dark space in which to hide. There is a very strong contrast between light and dark. I like how the soldiers are hidden in the shadows. Could you set up the photo again and eliminate the fence and parts you do not want and shift the composition by using the rule of thirds?
